Abstract

Radiotracer investigations of the gas flow dynamics in the catalytic bed chemical reactor have been carried out. 79Kr has been used as a radiotracer. The coefficient characterizing the inflow velocity profile of gas on the bed determined by a thermoanemometric method, has been correlated with the model parameters of the gas flow within the packed bed. For modelling of the gas dynamics within the catalyst layer, dispersion model and -plug-flow and stirred tank models in series have been applied.
