Abstract

In Goiânia - GO, construction waste is taken to a landfill and used to cover a mass formed by organic waste, which configures an environmental problem. Much of this material can be recycled, processed and transformed. The generation of by-products and new construction materials that can be absorbed by civil construction itself constitute a viable alternative to the construction cycle, favoring the environment. Sustainability should be emphasized and applied in academic and professional projects. Badly discarded waste impacts the environment negatively, so one must act with transformative solutions. This research makes a bibliographical review and historical survey about waste treatment in Goiânia, exposes guidelines and results in the proposal of a project for recycling solid waste from construction and demolition.
