Abstract

In this paper, a numerical algorithm which implements phase (87T), negative-sequence (87Q) and restricted earth fault (REF) differential protection functions is developed. The performance evaluation of power transformer protection functions was done through parametric sensitivity analysis (PSAs). The results show the performance of implemented protection functions facing to a wide variety of operating situations to which transformer is subjected (loading condition, source strength and energization condition).
