Bioinspired algorithms used in numerical simulation of materials processing are briefly reviewed, applications of bioinspired algorithms to numerical simulation of plastic forming and heat treatment are introduced. Abstract

Metal processing evolves complicated invariances of microstructures, material properties, and processing conditions. Modeling of material behaviors and interactions among microstructures, properties and processing conditions are fundamental to carry out numerical simulation of metallic material processing.
