Abstract
Palabras clave: Macbeth; Dictadura; Posdictadura; Somigliana; GambaroFrom Dictatorship to Post-dictatorship: Variations on Macbeth in Argentine theatreAbstract: William Shakespeare’s reflection about corruption and power in Macbeth contexts gives rise to evocative revisions of the text in different contexts, generating new points of interest. In this paper we will analyse two Argentinian versions of this tragedy allowing us to look at the dialogue with the canonical playwright and to explore their variations depending on their contexts of production: Macbeth (1980) by Carlos Somigliana, written during the dictatorship known as Proceso de Reorganización Nacional (1976-1983), and La señora Macbeth (2002) by Griselda Gambaro, in the posdictatorship era.Key words: Macbeth, Dictatorship; Posdictatorship; Somigliana Gambaro
