Abstract

The experiences won through a pilot Li-Fi installation in a conference room in Mainau — Lake Constance, Germany, are presented in this paper. We briefly analyze the framework of this field test, describe the novel components involved, as well as the attained results. Finally, some essential directions for the future evolution of this system, in particular the trade-off between range and data rate, are addressed.
