For a future smart water management in Moroccan rural area: constraints and opportunities

Abstract

The water sector suffers of a complex interaction between water resources and the socio-economic and environmental systems. The range of stakeholders is huge, public and private, from global to local companies, supported by national, regional and again local authorities. This different nature in stakeholders and the several schemes for water governance are the principal reasons for current market fragmentation in water management solutions [1]. In This poster, we describe the different mutilations that a drinking water supply project, in a Moroccan rural area, undergoes before studies until its operation. This study highlights several constraints that each project is subject. Those constraints could be technical, regulatory, financial, economic and social. If we go beyond these constraints we can develop a smart model
