Abstract

Electromagnetic properties of chiral and nonreciprocal composite chiral-ferrite media are described in terms of reaction theorems, vector Helmholtz equations, and dyadic functions. Chiral media are examined first, and then a composite medium having both chiral and ferrite properties is considered. The chiral part of the medium is chosen to have a complex activity coefficient, and this is shown to suggest nonreciprocity. In itself, the ferrite part of the medium is nonreciprocal.<>
