Um olhar geneticista para a fotografia: como se criam imagens?

Abstract

Literature and photography have a lot in common to records, identities and memories. Discussing these creative practices is, many times, hard and a little precise task, as it happens in artistic debate. For that matter, this work aims to reflect on the process of photography creation through the genetic criticism, a methodological approach that gained ground in literature in the 1960’s that intends to clarify the meanderings of the creative process considering documents of the process. Observing the photographic act as a process, the debate about authorship is expanded, refuting Bresson’s decisive moment. In this work, Tiago Santana and Audálio Dantas’ photobook O chão de Graciliano, from 2006, was analyzed regarding the geneticist perspective, which was proven to be quite adequate to debate and to preserve the photographic creative process.
