Abstract
This study examined the structural relationship between person-environment fit, job burnout, occupational identity, job exhaustion, and turnover intention among Chinese university administrative staff. The research model was designed to identify the mediating effect of job enthusiasm and the moderating effect of occupational identity. A sample of 303 valid responses were analyzed using regression analysis in SPSS 22.0. The concept of person-environment fit is based on the interaction between individuals and organizations. However, from the perspective of university management teachers who reside on campus, evaluating the teacher’s suitability for interpersonal relationships, organizations, and tasks is important. The study results indicate that if the degree of recognition is high in any kind of suitability, a positive attitude is formed toward the job and organization, and if it is low, a negative attitude takes form. In addition, job enthusiasm effectively influences the effect of person-environment fit on job burnout by partially mediating the relationship. A sense of professionalism means that the effect on job burnout can be maximized by effectively controlling personal-environment fit and job burnout.
