Indications are advantages, disadvantages and applications. It is shown that the calculation of losses in the steel of such electric drives for the analysis of operating modes must be performed by the method of loss sharing or by direct calculation of losses from the Maxwell equations. The analytical method for calculating losses in the steel of classical AC machines gives a significant error and is recommended for preliminary calculation of the electric drive at the stage of its synthesis. Verification of simulation results is carried out by comparing them with experimental losses data in an electric drive with a synchronous independent excitation reaction machine. Abstract
An overview of modern synchronous reactive and switched reluctance drives is given. Indications are advantages, disadvantages and applications. It is shown that the calculation of losses in the steel of such electric drives for the analysis of operating modes must be performed by the method of loss sharing or by direct calculation of losses from the Maxwell equations.
