COOPERATION OF LOCAL INSTITUTIONS IN CARRYING OUT ACTIVITIES FOR SENIORS. THE EXAMPLE OF COMMUNES OF THE MAZOWIECKIE VOIVODESHIP

Abstract

The article addresses the problem of planning and organising local government activities that respond to the concept of healthy and active ageing. The results of a pilot project carried out in three municipalities in the Mazovian voivodeship indicate the high organisational potential of local governments in the field of implementing activities for senior citizens, based on a cooperation of institutions representing the social assistance sector, culture, sport and rehabilitation. The process of implementing active ageing measures is participatory, although in the locations studied the role of the Senior Council was very limited.
