Abstract

In this paper, an optimization method is proposed to compute the power flow feasible region's boundary. The boundary points of maximum load are directly and accurately computed through a non-linear programming model. The security constraints such as equipment restrictions and voltage constraint are introduced into the study of the feasible region. The feasible region's boundary with security constraints is successfully calculated on the WSCC 3-generator and 9-bus system and the impact of the security constraints on the region is analyzed.
