Abstract

For flexible handling of video images, it is important to structure video information according to its content. We focus on linguistic descriptions of such video contents that can be extracted during the process of video production. This paper proposes a component-based scene description model for computerizing linguistic descriptions written by the directors and a method for extracting a content-based hierarchical structure for video sequences based on this model.
