Abstract
Having students learn many kinds of research is valuable to them as students and professionals. A form of primary research with which most technical communication students are unfamiliar is ethnography. This paper describes an ethnographic research project in a technical communication course and explains the purpose, preparation, procedure, and value of the project to the students, the subjects, and the curriculum.
