In experiments dealing with monocytes, the diabetics had a chemotaxis value (125+/-10) significantly lower than that of controls (368+/-22); the polymorphonuclear leukocytes chemotaxis value of diabetics (468+/-31) was also lower than normal (1256+/-62).
