In the beginning, this paper will introduce Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) as well as Industrie 4.0 and will outline the underlying characteristics. Technical concepts and standards provided by the Industrie 4.0 Platform (RAMI 4.0, Industrie 4.0 Component, Administration Shell) will be presented and illuminated. Subsequently, the shortcomings of these concepts and the need for research that has been identified will be discussed. A framework for industrial value networks which supports horizontal and vertical integration in Industrie 4.0 and which is based on the S-BMP method is supposed to be a solution for overcoming to days shortcomings.
