Abstract
COVID-19 was added to the group of "pandemic" diseases by the World Health Organization on March 13, 2020. The pandemic in question has caused multifaceted changes in the daily lives of individuals on a global scale. Due to the restrictions and social distance rules experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic process, changes have also been observed in the purchasing behavior of consumers. Consumers had to change some of their habits in order to adapt themselves to the process. For example, in this period, consumers showed interest in personal hygiene products and stockable food products. In this context, firstly the concept of consumption and then the factors affecting the decision-making processes and actions of consumers towards purchasing are emphasized. The study was conducted through a survey of 337 participants for residents living in Başakşehir district of Istanbul province to examine the impact of COVID-19 on consumer behavior. The results of the survey were analyzed and interpreted with the IBM SPSS 26 program and the results of the hypotheses were supported by the analyzes at the end of the study.
