Promoting Innovation through Research Collaboration and Technology Commercialization: Approaches from the Yangtze River Delta Region of China

Abstract

Regional innovation has been prominently promoted in China as regional integrated development gains increasing significance as the national strategy. The Yangtze River Delta which locates at the east coast is one of the most developed, open and innovative regions in China. This paper aims to the examine the main approaches adopted by the Yangtze River Delta Region towards innovation promotion. The discussion is conducted with special reference to the national strategy of integrated development of Yangtze River Delta. The implications are also provided.
