Abstract

A 2-layer structure control method is presented for single phase full-bridge boost rectifiers with power factor correction. The proposed control scheme is combined adaptive Model Predictive Control(MPC) with PI with dead band control to achieve sinusoidal AC input current and DC output voltage regulation. Different from the conventional methods, each control layer implements individual sampling rate to maintain near-unity power factor even during the transient process. Moreover, some constraints of the circuit topology are derived in the work. Simulation results based on MATLAB/SIMULINK confirm the feasibility of the proposed control method.
