Abstract

The implementation of pilotage task is inseparable from navigation information provided by shipborne navigation equipments. This paper presents a wearable pilotage system which adopts the PDA as the carrier for the electronic charts display as well as navigation information display and processing, through the Bluetooth wireless transmission to obtain the navigation information from shipborne AIS, and make use of embedded electronic chart display & processing engine to achieve their overlay display. Therefore, it has the advantages of wearable, lightweight, compact, flexible, mobile etc, and is very suitable for pilots to carry out pilotage task.
