Abstract

The characteristic of one-side radiation is always required in the application of ultra-wideband spiral antenna. Microstrip Archimedean spiral antenna can be achieved by traditional Archimedean spiral antenna with a dielectric-slab and a mental ground plane. This method could increase the gain of the antenna. However, the main lobe splits at the higher frequency band. A hollow dielectric structure is also designed in the paper. The operation band of the microstrip Archimedean spiral antenna could be increased through the structure according to the simulation and the measured results.
