Abstract
Air pollution increase drastically every day, respiratory illnesses are becoming more frequent. The pollutants come in different sizes and can damage the lungs severely. Most equipment that can diagnose an individual's lung status is bulky, can only be accessed in urban areas, and requires the use of a mouthpiece. Through the use of Respiratory Inductance Plethysmography, a pre-diagnosis of the lungs can be determined. A sensor belt integrated to a Raspberry Pi is responsible for the generation of an individual's breathing pattern. The results produced are then sent through the use of HTTP to the server, which in turn appears on the mobile application that the medical specialist uses. The medical specialist analyzes the results, and sends a professional remark back to the patient. The device is proven to be effective for those who are uncomfortable with using a mouthpiece, and provide a convenient tool in pre-diagnosing the lungs at the comfort of the patient.
