Application of Electronic Nose Stations for Air Quality Monitoring in a Brewery 电子鼻站在啤酒厂空气质量监测中的应用

Continuous monitoring and control of malodor emission are increasingly in great demand in several industries. In this work, a wireless network of electronic nose (e-nose) was developed to monitor industrial odor. Five stations of e-nose are placed around a brewery located near Bangkok, Thailand. The stations continuously monitor the odor in real time. Running standard deviation of the sensing signals is used to determine the odor event (large fluctuation of the odor). It was found that the station no. 3 (located near the wastewater treatment plant in the brewery) displays the highest response as compared to the others. Further implementation of filtering algorithms makes the devices a predictive tool for odor monitoring and control.

Multi-user Secrecy SWIPT for 5G OFDMA Networks with Particle Swarm Optimizations 基于粒子群优化的5G OFDMA网络多用户保密SWIPT

This paper maximizes the minimum downlink secrecy throughput of the multi-user orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA) network with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT), where the optimizers include subcarrier allocation and power splitting ratio. The network is composed of a base station, and several receiver nodes (users). Every user does not have its own power supply, and uses the power splitting scheme to harvest energy and to decode information simultaneously from the received signal. Every user can eavesdrop all other users' subcarriers, and more than one subcarriers can be allocated to a user. We aim to maximize the total instantaneous secrecy rate of the weakest user. All user nodes experience the same path loss and shadowing, but dissimilar fast fading. To jointly allocate subcarriers and find the power splitting ratios for all users, the full search is tedious. Therefore, we propose the algorithm, based on particle swarm optimizations. The obtained average total instantaneous secrecy rate of the weakest user indicate that the total transmit power should be high enough to overcome the minimum operating energy. Increasing the total transmit power beyond a threshold does not increase the average total instantaneous secrecy rate of the weakest user.

Monitoring the Freshness Level of Beef Using Nanocomposite Gas Sensors in Electronic nose 利用电子鼻中的纳米复合气体传感器监测牛肉的新鲜度

In this paper, an electronic nose comprising an array of polymer and functionalized single-walled carbon nanotube composite gas sensors was developed for monitoring the freshness level of beef in order to prevent people from consuming unhealthy meat. The three types of nanocomposite sensors were tested with various volatile organic compounds in static system. The sensors show a good response to ammonia produced mainly from the beef spoilage. Accordingly it is suitable for detecting the spoilage of beef. The results reveal that nanocomposite gas sensors made of polyaniline (PANI)/ SWNTs-COOH show the highest sensitivity to ammonia. The raw beef was prepared into pieces and kept at room temperature for 5 days. The beef samples were monitored with e-nose day after day to know the meat spoilage and the diurnal freshness of beef could be discriminated by using principal component analysis (PCA). In conclusion, this electronic nose system has the potential to be applied in the real detection of freshness level.

Competence Investigation of Noise Detecting Procedure Found on TTSD (Triple Threshold Statistical Detection) filter for SPN SPN三阈值统计检测滤波器噪声检测程序的能力研究

This paper aims to investigate the TTSD (Triple Threshold Statistical Detection) filter because the TTSD filter, which has been proposed since 2018, is one of the highest recent powerful noise eliminating procedures because an auxiliary condition is first implemented in this procedure which satisfactorily solves the disadvantage of previous noise detection procedures. Moreover, the noise signature is estimated for all pixels and statistically checked with the first threshold to classify noisy pixels succeeds by the statistically checking of the computed pixel with the 2nd and 3rd threshold levels where these thresholds are based on both Gaussian statistical dispersion (mean and standard deviation) and quartile dispersion (median). In this simulation part, many contaminated images, which are comprised of Resolution, Girl, Lena, Pepper, Mobile and Pentagon under salt and pepper noise at many noise densities in the noisy detecting accuracy, noiseless detecting accuracy and overall detecting accuracy perspective.

Fall decision algorithm based on changeable velocity SVM threshold 基于变速度支持向量机阈值的坠落决策算法

In this paper, we focus on fall decision algorithm using a microcontroller module. We measure multiple sensor data and calculate signal vector magnitude (SVM) of acceleration, angular velocity, and angular variation to decide whether the falling accident occurs or not. We suggest a changeable velocity SVM threshold-based algorithm to implement an algorithm for detecting/deciding fall accidents.

Using a Virtual Reality System to Improve Quality of Life of the Elderly People with Depression 利用虚拟现实系统提高老年抑郁症患者的生活质量

Depression is a mental illness that affects physical performance for all ages. Particularly, the elderly people can experience symptoms of depression due to changes in their bodies, minds and social life. Absence of social status and reliance on family members are key reasons affecting the elderly's mental health. To treat symptoms of depression in the elderly, a procedure involves both a physical treatment(i.e; using medication and electricity to stimulate the brain) and a psycho-socially treatment (i.e; finding any social and environmental factor causing the illness and providing consultations). This research presents a development of a virtual reality system to treat depression in the elderly. Virtual images and environment of a garden were created to urge a belief and feeling that senior users were in a real environment. This virtual reality system with a 360-degree virtual garden view would encourage the elderly with depression symptoms to move their arms, thereby helping to stimulate their brain functions and speed up the process of depression treatment.

Study of Relationship between QoS and QoE for Web Services with Parallax Effect 视差效应下Web服务的QoS与QoE关系研究

This paper studies the relationship between QoS and QoE for Web services which utilize the parallax effect by experiment. In the experiment, the authors consider 8 actual Japanese Web services and assess QoE and QoS of them; they analize the results by the principal component analysis and the linear multiple regression analysis. The experimental results show that, some QoE parameters cannot be affected QoS degradation by using the parallax effect. Therefore, even if QoS is deteriorated, the parallax effect can keep some aspects of QoE high. From these results, the authors suggest that if we make Web pages with the parallax effect properly, they can become tolerant to QoS degradation.

UWB Power Penetration Inside a Realistic Human Head Model 超宽带功率穿透在一个现实的人类头部模型

In this paper, an antenna operating near a human head is analysed in the ultra-wideband (UWB) frequency range. The UWB antenna operating over a frequency range from 3.1 GHz - 6.7 GHz is evaluated in terms of reflection coefficient, E-field and H-field penetration, and specific absorption rate (SAR) of the human tissue when the antenna is operating in front of a realistic human head model. The study shows that at higher UWB frequencies, the power propagation inside the human head decreases significantly.

Impact of Slotframe Length on End-to-End Delay in IEEE 802.15.4 TSCH Network IEEE 802.15.4 TSCH网络中Slotframe长度对端到端时延的影响

IEEE 802.15.4 Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) is designed to provide high reliability and predictable time delay for industrial applications that require strict preconditions. IEEE 802.15.4 TSCH operates on the slotframe structure consisting of multiple slotOffsets and channelOffsets. However, the IEEE 802.15.4-2015 standard does not specify how to determine the slotframe length. Thus, the inappropriate slotframe length can cause a long end-to-end delay in industrial applications. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the impact of the slotframe length on the end-to-end delay performance in IEEE 802.15.4 TSCH network. The results of the analysis can be used as the guideline that determines the appropriate slotframe length for various industrial applications.
