This paper examines the effects of a transform domain digital excision filter upon the performance levels of both types of receivers as determined through simulations using the Signal Processing Worksystem. The communication system considered in this research employed direct sequence spread spectrum modulation. Intercept receivers considered were the radiometer and chip rate detector. The performance of the communication and intercept receivers in the presence of narrowband jammers was measured with and without the excision filter in order to characterize the performance gains achieved with the filter.
