Abstract

Metabolic syndrome(MS) is a cluster of metabolic abnormalities and cardiovascular diseases, including obesity, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and so on.However, the exact pathogenesis still remains unclear.Obesity plays an important role in the pathogenesis of MS.It can induce insulin resistance and usually leads to the occurrence of the MS at the same time.Adipocytes can express and secret many important adipocytokines such as leptin, adiponectin, resistin, retinol binding protein 4,chemerin,apelin,visfatin,CRP,TNF-α,IL-6 and others, all of which are closely related to the inflammatory action and oxidative stress and in turn contribute to MS.
