What generation Z needs in education: A survey

Abstract

In each generation humans will always have different needs. Educational needs that arise in each generation also vary greatly. This study aims to investigate the educational needs of Gen Z by using survey design methods with quantitative data results. Researchers distribute questionnaires using Google forms. The questionnaire is about how Generation Z reflects its needs in education, based on 3 aspects: teacher, educational facilities and social relations. They consist of 15 statements to indicate educational needs. This study involved 200 respondents including generation Z born between 1995--2010. This study reveals the dominant educational needs of Generation Z. As a result, the need for a good and comfortable teacher to discuss dominates, the need for online learning that is not monotonous in class is also in high demand and the need for caring parents is needed by these Z generations.
