Abstract

To develop massive-array antennas for 5th generation mobile communication systems it is important to understand their DOA characteristics. Therefore, a number of studies on direction of arrival (DOA) measurements have been reported. We have proposed the use of the synthetic aperture method for measuring DOA. This paper details data obtained by time domain measurements that use frequency sweep from a vector receiver. The results show that the method can acquire the time of arrival and direction of arrival in indoor environments.
