DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF FEMALE POPULATION OF THE KURGAN REGION

Abstract

The study of processes characterizing various aspects of the population is the most important element in the tasks of socio-demographic development of territories. The most urgent problems of the demographic and socio-economic potential of Russian society include various aspects of fertility. When searching for ways to increase the birth rate, in our opinion, close attention must be paid to the key population group in this issue - women of generative (reproductive, fertile, child-bearing) age. Characterization of women in reproductive age can be obtained on the basis of a system of indicators that are interrelated and organically complement each other. The paper analyzes statistical data on the quantitative sizes, age distribution of the indicated cohort of the female population of the Kurgan region. The intraregional territorial differences of the considered characteristics of the female contingent of the region are revealed. It is concluded that there are adverse trends associated with changes in the parameters of the studied population of the region.
