For locomotives with two-axle bogies with a wheel diameter of 1250 mm, it is proposed to use a traction drive with an asynchronous traction motor attached to the bogie frame and an axial gearbox, which allows these methods to be implemented with the existing base of bogies. Abstract

The problem is considered in order to find new solutions to improve the grip of locomotive wheels with rails to increase their traction properties.
