Abstract

This article is an attempt to describe the dimensions of social maladjustment on the example of a teenager with a behavioural disorders. The aim of the own research focused on getting to know and describing the dimensions of social maladjustment based on the narrative of a teenager and her mother, observation and searching for secondary sources. This research was embedded in a qualitative research strategy within a descriptive and theoretical case study. The research results allowed for a detailed description of the dimensions of social maladjustment based on the theoretical assumptions for the Social Maladjustment Scale [pl. Skala Nieprzystosowania Społecznego (SNS)] by Lesław Pytka, including on a description of family, peer and school maladjustment, antisocial behaviours, biopsychological and sociocultural factors as well as preventive and corrective measures.
