Abstract
The article presents Maria Grzegorzewska's indications regarding the need to organize special education in Poland after 1918. It is assumed that this is the first text by Grzegorzewska on this matter, published in the "Roczniki Polskiej Ligi Nauczania" [Annals of the Polish Teaching League]. Second part of the article is associated with the organization and activity of the State Institute for Special Pedagogics from 1922 to 1976.
