Abstract
This paper deals with forgotten element to reduce short-circuit currents - duplex reactor. Short-circuit withstand capability of electrical devices is important parameter from point of view of power system design and operation safety. If short-circuit currents exceed accessible limits there are some possibilities how to reduce them. One possibility of reducing fault currents is to use of duplex reactor in power system. This element has significant advantages in comparison to other ways of reducing short-circuit currents.
