The theoretical synthesis presents that the function point and the number of defects should be positively correlated. The theory’s correctness is verified by analyzing the correlation between function point and defect distribution of eight software applications. Then, the mathematical equations for software configuration testing defects are derived, and the specific meaning of the equation is explained. Abstract
