Abstract

Edge-pumped microchip laser configurations based on Yb:YAG/YAG composite gain media are presented. 90W output power with good beam quality and low wavefront distortion were obtained. Several new designs of composite gain media, like very thin disk with undoped cap and lens-like active media are presented and analyzed.
