Abstract
Carabus (Morphocarabus) comptus paseki ssp. n. is described from the Southern Carpathians (Romania). Th e new subspecies substantially diff ers from all forms of Carabus comptus Dejean, 1831 in the general body form and the sculpture of the elytra. With 17 fi gures.
