Abstract

A supervisory discrete event control scheme is proposed to configure any node of a parametric set of production machines and buffers in a manufacturing process of any desired directed graph configuration. Based on this scheme any desired configuration can be realized and maximum flexibility of the manufacturing process can be achieved. The controllability of the proposed supervisor with respect to its controlled subsystem and the total system is proven.
