Abstract

Doubly-Fed Wind Power Generator (DFWPG) has an important application in the frequency response of wind power system. However, it is difficult to provide effective support for wind power system frequency regulation only by using DFWPG. To solve the problem, the energy storage system and the DFWPG are combined to involve in the frequency regulation of wind power system in this paper. The DFWPG is controlled by the virtual inertia frequency regulation and the pitch control. The output power of the energy storage system is adjusted by using the droop control. The simulation results show that the frequency stability can be effectively improved by introducing the wind-storage combined frequency regulation system.
