For modeling and optimizing the energy technology system of metallurgical plant the information-analytical system “OptiMet” was used. As for assessment of harmful emission impact on the environment, it was carried out on the basis of Impact Pathways methodology with using the geoinformation system. Abstract

The article presents two main directions in the field of application of information-analytical system “OptiMet”. The use of information-analytical systems for educational purposes is currently in demand and necessary for the preparing and training of future engineers (1). Besides the article demonstrates methodological approaches to the resource and energy saving strategy development for metallurgical plant on the base of application of information-analytical system “OptiMet” (2). For modeling and optimizing the energy technology system of metallurgical plant the information-analytical system “OptiMet” was used.
