Abstract
The single-stage inverter has gained great importance nowadays because of its small size, small weight, low costs, and the ease of its control methods. Several topologies of the single-stage inverter were previously presented such as the Z-Source Inverter (ZSI) and its modified versions, and the Y-Source Inverter (YSI). Split Source Inverter (SSI) has been presented with additional advantages such as using the same modulation techniques of Voltage Source Inverter (VSI), and continuous input current and input voltage. Some applications require a higher voltage gain inverter due to their poor output voltages. In this paper switched inductor has replaced the normal inductor in the three-phase split source inverter to enhance the voltage gain. The theoretical operation of the proposed Switched Inductor Split Source Inverter (SL-SSI) has been studied and analyzed, then verified using MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results and theoretical analyses have shown that the proposed SL-SSI increases the gain of traditional SSI at a substantial rate.
