The feature of EV that uses electric as primary source provides benefits to customers. As electrical system is the major appeal of an EV, the present study focuses on the charging system where it involves DC-DC converter for high voltage charger. The phase-shifted-full bridge and LLC are used in high power application. A hybrid resonant and PWM converter combining resonant LLC half bride and phase shifted full-bridge topology are proposed. The converter is expected to achieve high efficiency and true soft switching for the operation range, which is very important for high voltage electric vehicle. The system in this study has been simulated and modelled using MATLAB and MULTISIM.
