an Investigation of Factors Affecting Utilization of MOOC from the perspective of R MOOC learners

Abstract

Aim: Various factors in the utilization of MOOCs should be considered in order to enable the MOOC providers to pay enough attention to these factors due to the importance and necessity of improving the MOOCs provider platforms. So, the aim of this research is the investigation of factors affecting utilization of MOOC from the perspective of RMOOC learners. Methods: This is an applied study., which was carried through the survey method. All learners RMOOC were studied purposefully over a period of 3 months (May, June, July) in 2017 by the Electronic researcher-made questionnaire via Google Docs. The total number of the study samples was 26 individuals examined after completing the questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed after being entered into the Excel software l using descriptive statistics. Results: Overall the results show the factor of “My theoretical knowledge has increased” is recognized as the most important result of the effects of participation in RMOOC. More than half of the learners dropped out. "Lack of time" was recognized as the most important reason for dropping out or not completing the course. The "official recognition of success and professional development" factor was announced as the most important factor in the promotion of completion of the course in terms of learners. Conclusion: In order to improve the MOOCs provider platforms, planners, policy-makers and Senior Managers the field of higher education in the Ministries of Science and Technology, Health and treatment and Education and also RMOOC platform providers should have more precise planning to provide the MOOC education platforms considering these various factors in the utilization of RMOOC.
