Abstract

Today' s Internet supports a much richer private peering fabric than was previously assumed, but the existing inter-domain routing protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), does not have a mechanism to route network traffic through peering links nor has a mechanism to provide incentives to the owners of peering links to share their peeing links for public network transit service.
