Abstract

A new temporally scalable video coding algorithm based on the interpolating wavelet transform is proposed. With the proposed approach, the input video frames are first applied to an interpolating wavelet transform which generates video frames with reduced temporal redundancy in its high pass branch and original video frames at lower rate in its low pass branch.
