Abstract

The direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for coherent signal is always an important aspect, because it will cause rank loss of the spatial covariance matrix. The conventional solution is to use smoothing algorithm, but recently a new technique is proposed, which reconstructs the spatial covariance matrix in Toeplitz pattern and no longer be affected by coherency. In this paper, an improved algorithm based the new technique is proposed, which can reduce the computational burden. Finally, a 2-D coherent DOA estimation method using 3-aixs crossed array is suggested. Simulation results are presented to verify the efficacy.
