Abstract
The paper analyzes the plots and characters of legends Altai related to the history Junggar state created Oirot and lasted until the mid-XVIII century. Comparison of historical facts with legends provides an opportunity to make representations about the historical period, the role of government officials and Turkish identity, namely the Altai, the tribes.
