AN EARLY INTERVENTION PROJECT IN DRUMCAR: a series of eight group meetings for parents of young Down's syndrome children

Abstract

SUMMARY This paper reports on a series of small group meetings that were run for parents with a Down's syndrome infant who lived in a rural community. An “educational”, directive approach was taken, and use was made of video recording and the Portage system in conjunction with short talks and general discussion. The participating parents were asked for their comments on the meetings and for their suggestions on how they could be improved.
