Abstract

The Intelligent Control and Autonomous Replanning of Unmanned Systems (ICARUS) system organizes a set of intelligent mission management technologies that support effective autonomous operation of heterogeneous unmanned system teams. The following paper describes the design principles used in constructing ICARUS, the evolution of the system for multiple environments, and the lessons learned from live asset experiments held at Dam Neck, VA, in August 2008.
