Abstract

Gears now a days are being used in almost all mechanical machines. These gears also add inertia to the drivetrain, which has to be decreased in order to decrease the losses. Hence changing the shape of the gear disk to decrease the weight is a pressing factor. This paper discusses about the arrangement of the pockets so as to get the least stress. The values of the loads are for an All-Terrain Vehicle. Simulation using Finite Element Analysis has been done and graphs has been plotted for better visualization and understandability of concept.
