Abstract
The contributions of London philosopher and jurisconsult Jeremy Bentham (1748-1832), known primarily as the founder of secular Utilitarianism, to questions of international politics, colonies, and the military, have heretofore received a superficial treatment, especially in the German scientific debate. Based on the most current research and profiting from the military expertise of its author, the present monography is the first complete, German-language examination of the mentioned aspects of Benthams thought, revealing its surprising topicality.
